Mardi Gras Jazz and Gospel Concert to benefit WHS Jazz Band

Rock Prairie Presbyterian Church of Janesville is excited to present their first Mardi Gras Gospel and Jazz concert. Featured entertainers will be The JJ’s, Janesville’s own premiere jazz band with members from Janesville and the surrounding communities. The JJ’s is a professional jazz band made up with some of the finest musicians in Southern Wisconsin.  The name JJ’s is an abbreviation for Jazz for Jesus.  For the past 15 years The JJ’s have been bringing joy and excitement at public concerts as well as church services of all denominations all around southern Wisconsin.

Also on the program are Ben Johnston-Urey, the incredible pianist/organist who is the Director of Music at First Lutheran Church in Janesville and The Mandels, made up of Hayley Wilson, her mom, Syrl Mandel and her sister Autumn Kumlein, a family with a deep history of musical presentations in our area. Joining these performers will be Brandon Crandall, Christopher Aaron Smith and the Rock Prairie Choir. The concert will be at 3 p.m. on March 3rd at Rock Prairie Church, 8605 E County Road A, Janesville. A freewill offering will be collected with all the funds donated to Craig, Parker, Milton, and Whitewater High School jazz bands in support of this wonderful art form.

For more information, call the church at 608-752-1172. We invite you to join us for coffee, cookies, and fellowship after the program.
