This morning, Whitewater Police officers responded alongside UW-Whitewater Police and our regional partners to a reported threat on the UW-Whitewater campus. Police investigated, determined there was no threat, and the university has given the all-clear.
We want to thank every officer, dispatcher, and first responder who moved quickly and professionally this morning, and the students, faculty, and staff who followed lockdown guidance on what was the first day of classes. A coordinated response like this is the product of training and strong partnerships between our agencies and today showed that work paying off.
The safety of our community, including the thousands of students who call Whitewater home, is our highest priority. We are proud of the officers and staff who serve this city and grateful for their work today.
