Whitewater Lions Club Annual “Parade of Checks”

On June 11th the Whitewater Lions Club hosted representatives of several of the local service and volunteer organizations.  As the representatives of each of the organizations was introduced by Lion President Don McComb,  they explained their mission and involvement in the Whitewater community.  The Whitewater Lions Club is proud to be able to financially assist these types of volunteerism with the proceeds from the Lions Club events such as the FishARee, Pancake Breakfasts and Food Vending at the July 4th Celebration and the Elkhorn Antique Fair.  All proceeds are reinvested in our community as well as Wisconsin Lions and Lions International charities.  Participating in the annual Parade of Checks included the Whitewater and LaGrange Fire Departments and  Emergency Services,  Tilla, the Police Dog, the Whitewater Food Pantry and several other local organizations.  The Whitewater Lions also provide vision screening to the Whitewater Schools, collect eyeglasses and hearing aids and support childhood cancer research and diabetes awareness programs.  “Where there is a need, there is a Lion.  WE SERVE.”
