Roberta “Bobbi” Sommers, 75, Whitewater passed away on Monday, July 09, 2018, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, WI.

Bobbi was born on November 2, 1942, in Elkhorn, WI to Walter and Bernice (Hurdis) Ferguson.  She graduated from Elkhorn High School in 1960.  Bobbi married Paul Sommers on November 3, 1962.  He preceded her in death on May 19, 1981. She was a legal secretary for Godfrey Law Firm in Elkhorn for 12 years.  Bobbi also worked as a Program Assistant in the Financial Aids office and the Theatre/Dance Department for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater until her retirement.  Bobbi enjoyed all Wisconsin sports, Nascar, crocheting and knitting.  She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.

She is survived by her children; Tammy (Bill) Beaver, Fort Atkinson, Ken (Patricia) Sommers, Elkhorn; granddaughter, Carrisa (Alex) Matz; many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Mary Strouse and brother Thomas Ferguson.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at 11:00 am at the Nitardy Funeral Home, 550 N. Newcomb St., Whitewater, WI 53190.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of the service.  A private burial will take place at the Hillside Cemetery, Whitewater.
