Police Dept. Seeks Help Identifying Vehicle in Hit & Run Accident in Business Park

Editor’s note: The following information was posted to the Whitewater Police Department Facebook page. Lieutenant Shawn Reif told the Banner on the afternoon of January 1 that the vehicle has not yet been located.

*LOOKING FOR A TIP* On Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at approximately 7:47 a.m., the police department took a report of a hit and run accident that had occurred in the 900 block of N. Universal Blvd. within the past 24 hours. A fire hydrant on the east side of the roadway was struck and snapped off from its foundation resulting in approximately $7,500 in damages. Parts collected from the scene indicate that the hit and run vehicle is a Nissan Murano, medium blue in color. This vehicle will have extensive damage.
