Kari Heidenreich Named UW-W Legislative Liaison

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Chancellor’s Office has announced that Kari Heidenreich, the chief of staff for Chancellor Dwight C. Watson, has been named as legislative liaison for the campus effective Feb. 1, 2020.

“I am pleased that Kari has agreed to take on this critical role in addition to her work as the chief of staff,” said Watson. “Since the departure of our previous legislative liaison in early 2019, she has been leading our government relations efforts, including annual events such as Coffee at the Capitol and our Legislative Breakfast, and coordinating legislator visits. We are proud of our strong relationships with state legislators and other state and local government leaders, and look forward to forging even stronger partnerships.”

Heidenreich has served in the Office of the Chancellor since 2015, and has worked at UW-Whitewater since 2012. She has more than 20 years of customer service experience in both the public and private sectors.

Heidenreich earned a B.S. in public policy and administration with an emphasis in legal studies from UW-Whitewater in 2015 and is currently completing an executive education certificate program in change management from Michigan State University.
