WUSD Winter Orchestra Concert – Friday, November 30

The Whitewater Unified School District Winter Orchestra Concert will be this Friday, Nov. 30, at 6:30 PM in the High School Auditorium. The concert, under the direction of Patricia Nielsen, will feature the Beginning, Intermediate and Middle School Orchestras and the High School Ensemble. The concert is free to all. Pictured is the Beginning Orchestra in rehearsal.

Washington School’s Winter Wonderland – Craft Fair, Bake Sale, & Santa

Washington School’s PATT is hosting a Craft Fair, Bake Sale & Santa event on Saturday, December 1 from 9 am-3 pm at Washington Elementary School (506 E Main St).

This event is FREE and open to the public!  There will be handmade crafts & creations, holiday gifts, bags/totes, jewelry, home décor, clothing and more.  There will be bake sale items & concessions available.  Santa will be on site from 11am-1pm for you to take your own pictures with.

Lakeview Loves receives grant to remodel workspace

Theisen’s of Jefferson and The Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque presented Lakeview Loves with a Theisen’s More for Your Community in-kind Grant of $1000. The grant will be used to “remodel” the room used as the Lakeview Loves workroom. The room will be repainted and the old cabinets will be removed to make an improved workspace.

30 years after they served together in Vietnam, former Navy Corpsman “Doc” Shepherd (Steve Carell) reunites with his old Marine buddies, Sal Nealon (Bryan Cranston) and Reverend Richard Mueller (Laurence Fishburne) to bury Doc’s son, a young Marine killed in the Iraq War. Doc decides to forgo burial at Arlington, and with the help and support of his old pals, takes the casket on a bittersweet trip up the East Coast to his home in New Hampshire.
