Based on a true story: an African American police officer in Colorado Springs, CO, successfully manages to infiltrate the local Ku Klux Klan chapter with the help of a Jewish police partner, who eventually is offered to become its leader.  Nominated for Best Picture; Oscar Winner for Best Adapted Screenplay (Spike Lee).
