Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again – Monday, December 31 at 12:30 PM, Seniors in the Park

It’s five years later, and daughter Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) is preparing for the Grand Re-Opening of the Hotel Bella Donna. About to have a child of her own, Sophie begins to worry that her life will repeat her mom’s (Meryl Streep) and that she’ll have to raise her child alone. She enlists the help of mom’s old friends (Christine Baranski, Julie Walters), as well as her three “dads” (Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgard), to learn more about her mother’s story…told in flashback! Along for the ride is Sophie’s estranged grandmother—-played by Cher… We will be showing the Sing-along version, ABBA fans!

Little Dribblers and Shooting Stars Complete Another Successful Year

Shooting Stars
Little Dribblers

The coaches were very happy with the skill development of the Little Dribblers (ages 4-6) and shooting stars (ages 7-8) over the eight weeks. Players practiced shooting, dribbling, passing, rebounding, defense and listening skills.

Coach Jordan, John, Bob, and Brian all think the girls and boys basketball programs will have a bright future with these young players.

Washington Student Council raises money for The Treehouse

The Student Council at Washington Elementary School recently completed the first step of a year long service project benefiting The Treehouse, the Walworth County child advocacy center located in Elkhorn. Students made fleece blankets to donate for the children visiting the Treehouse. In addition, students sold coffee and hot chocolate at the recent Washington Winter Wonderland event and raised $50. Nicci Erdmann, an employee of the Treehouse, came to Washington to accept the blankets and the money. Another $88 has already been raised for donation through the purchase of “Caring Canes” at Washington’s Winter Sing!

The Left Hand of God – Wednesday, December 19 at 12:30 PM, Seniors in the Park

At a remote Catholic mission in 1947 China, arrives a man in priestly robes: the long-awaited “Father O’Shea” (Humphrey Bogart).
Though seemingly uncomfortable with his priestly duties, Father O’Shea’s tough tactics prove very successful in the Seven Villages, as around them post-World War 2 China disintegrates into civil war and revolution. But Father O’Shea has a personal secret, and his friendship with the mission nurse (Gene Tierney) also seems to be taking on an unpriestly tone. Also stars Lee J. Cobb, E.G. Marshall, and Agnes Moorehead. This beautiful, under-spoken film is rarely seen on TV.
