WHS Swimmers Make Significant Drops in Times

1/21/20 Whitewater 59 vs Burlington Co-op 110

Despite the loss to the Division I – Burlington Co-op, the team swam amazing! The team posted 21 out of 24 best times with many being significant drops in time.

Winning events for the Whippets were Devin Bazeley in the 200 Individual Medley with a 5 second drop, Jack Mayer in both the 50 and 100 Freestyle posting times just off his State times from last year, and our 400 Freestyle Relay of Devin Bazeley, Shawn Chan, Tony Aranda, and Jack Mayer also earned first place.

Our largest drops came from the following swimmers:

  • Tony Aranda -2 seconds in the 200 Freestyle
  • Tyler Arnett -7 seconds in the 200 Freestyle and -22 seconds in the 500 Freestyle
  • Devin Bazeley -5 seconds in the 200 Individual Medley
  • Keith Cameron -2 seconds in the 50 Freestyle and -16 seconds in the 100 Breaststroke
  • Shawn Chan -4 seconds in the 100 Butterfly
  • Jon Chan -1.5 seconds in the 50 Freestyle and -1.5 seconds in the 100 Butterfly
  • Jovany Manriquez -2 seconds in the 100 Freestyle
  • Jonathan Manriquez -1 second in the 50 Freestyle, -12 seconds in the 100 Butterfly and -21 seconds in the 100 Breaststroke
  • Jack Mayer -2 seconds in the 100 Freestyle
  • Zach Tomomitsu -2 seconds in the 100 Backstroke

We are definitely headed in the right direction going in to our last dual meet before Conference, Sectionals, and State!
