Whitewater Man Arrested for Killing a Deer in Janesville

Editor’s note: The following information was provided by the Janesville Police Department.

On October 27, 2021 the Janesville Police Department and conservation wardens from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources began investigating several tips of a whitetail buck which was allegedly killed in the City of Janesville.  The alleged violation occurred near the City of Janesville landfill.  On November 3, after a joint investigation into the complaints, Janesville Police arrested Jason Kline, 40, from Whitewater, WI.  The investigation is still ongoing.  The Janesville Police Department appreciates all the community assistance they received in this investigation.  Kline was issued court dates for the following charges. 
 
Charges:
Trespass to Land – 943.13
City Ordinance – Bow and Crossbow hunting restrictions – 24-881
City Ordinance – Discharge Weapon in city limits – 24-880
