Whitewater Breakfast Kiwanis Club recognizes student achievement, sponsors transportation for WUSD summer program

The Kiwanis Whitewater Breakfast Club awarded donations, scholarship money, and recognition at their meeting held on Tuesday, May 1.

First, the Kiwanis presented $4,000 to the Whitewater Unified School District for transportation needs of the Whitewater Schools’ English Language Learner (ELL) Summer Reading Program.  The funds were raised from the Easter Lily plant sales this year.

Next, initiated by the late Pat Brooks, the Kiwanis presented Academic Excellence Recognition to three Whitewater High School students. Steve Ryan, of the Whitewater Kiwanis Breakfast Club, presented certificates of recognition and $100 to students Jacob Zuehlke, Lydia Wiley-Deal, and Zachary Gross.

Finally, The Whitewater Kiwanis Foundation gave a $100 scholarship to Mariah Sprain to augment the Doris and Alfred S. Kolmos Circle K Kiwanis Scholarship from the UW-Whitewater Foundation.
