No. 3 UW-Whitewater Downs No. 11 Washington & Jefferson

AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The No. 3 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater baseball team picked up another marquee victory Thursday with an 8-1 triumph over 11th-ranked Washington & Jefferson (Pa.), last year’s national runner-up, at the RussMatt Invitational at Lake Myrtle Park.

The Warhawks (3-0), who opened the 2018 season yesterday with wins over fellow 2017 NCAA qualifier Babson (Mass.) and Hope (Mich.), broke open a close game with four runs in the seventh and added two more in the eighth to back a strong performance by junior pitcher Michael Kaska.

UW-Whitewater Softball Opens 2018 Season

CLERMONT, Fla. – The No. 10 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater softball team started its 2018 season Thursday against two traditional powers from Massachusetts, falling in back-to-back games at the NTC Softball Complex on the first day of the team’s spring break trip.

The Warhawks (0-2 overall) were downed by Tufts, which won three straight national championships from 2013-15, by a 10-3 score. They continued the day against fourth-ranked Williams (Mass.), falling 8-5.
