Southern Lakes Anthology Winners Chosen

(L-R): Luc Pomazak, Alex Clarksen, Andrew O’Toole, Margaret Brown, Zoe Olson, Erika Dreksler, Silas Baker

Congratulations to the Whitewater Middle School students who had their Southern Lakes Anthology entries selected at the regional Southern Lakes Advanced Learner Network competition that was held in Elkhorn on Tuesday, January 28th.  Southern Lakes Anthology is an annual writing and art competition that is organized by the SLAL Network comprised of over 50 different participating school districts. The theme of this year’s contest was “Beneath the Surface.”  Students submitted work in categories of prose, poetry, illustrated writing, art and cartoons. The quality of WMS’s entries was exceptional again this year with six of our middle school entries being selected for inclusion in this year’s anthology.

This year’s MS regional winners were (L-R): Luc Pomazak, Alex Clarksen, Andrew O’Toole, Margaret Brown, Zoe Olson, Erika Dreksler, Silas Baker. These students will have their entries published in the 2020 edition of the Southern Lakes Anthology and will be publicly recognized at a special reception that will be held on May 19th at the Young Auditorium here in Whitewater. Great job and congratulations to all of the students whose work was selected. You make us very proud.
