Ski team raises over $1500 for Herma Heart Institute

The ski team was excited to present a check for $1,503.00 to the Herma Heart Institute of Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. The ski team put on benefit water ski show on August 18th in which raffle baskets, t-shirt sales, and all bucket donations went to this cause near and dear to the team.

Two local members of the team, Hunter Peters (16) and Zach Tomomitsu, (14) have been patients of the Herma Heart Institute all of their life. The boys were each born with only half of their heart. The congenital heart condition is known as Hypoplastic right heart syndrome for Hunter and Hypoplastic left heart syndrome for Zach. Through the excellent care and treatment of the institute, the boys are both living full and active lives despite their heart abnormalities.

The Herma heart institute will use the funds to help advocate for appropriate physical activity for children with heart disease and school intervention programs.

The Ski team has just a couple shows left if you would like to catch one yet this summer 8/31 at 6:30 pm at the Lauderdale Landing, Lauderdale Lake and 9/1 at 6:00 pm at Scenic Ridge Campground, Whitewater lake.
