In one of Affleck’s best performances ever, this true-to-life sports drama manages to buck expectations, avoid formulaic sports hokum, and deliver a gripping and realistic narrative on addiction, failure, and recovery. You will be humbled and cheering from the stands. A powerful film with an exceptional cast.
