School Board Additional Update: Now there are four candidates for three seats [Correction]

Correction 1/6/26 @ 9 a.m. – The Banner misspelled the name of Terri Jones in this article (it is not Terrie). Apologies for this error.

On January 5 at 3:12 p.m., Whitewater Unified School District School Board Secretary Christine Dodge notified The Whitewater Banner that two additional persons have filed for candidacy on the board in the April 7 election. This morning The Banner had indicated that there were only two candidates for three open seats.

The following have now filed as candidates:

Stephanie Hicks [Incumbent]
Lisa Huempfner [Incumbent]
Terri Jones
Christy Linse [Incumbent who had filed a noncandidacy statement but changed her mind and is now running.]

Interested in Running for the WUSD School Board?
All School District candidates must complete and submit the required forms to the filing officer no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. Candidacy paperwork, Ballot Access Checklist & Campaign Finance Overview – Local Candidate Committees is available at the Central Office, 419 S. Elizabeth Street, Whitewater. The Whitewater Unified School District does not require nomination papers for School Board candidates.

The district office is open on Monday, January 5 until 4:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, January 6 until 5:00 p.m. The candidacy paperwork may be completed in a matter of minutes.
