Registration Open for ’21 WI Senior Olympics

(Milwaukee, June 15, 2021) – Registration opened for the Wisconsin Senior Olympics (WSO) June 15, 2021. With 22 states sending athletes to participate in the 2020 WSO games, expectations are for continued growth in participation in 2021. In 2020, despite restrictions from Covid, 595 athletes participated in the games. In a typical year, that number is over 1,200.

“We were extremely pleased last year to hold the games in a protective manner. This year, we hope to get new athletes to join us, and bring back some of the participants who chose to sit out last year due to Covid,” said Harvey Pollack, WSO President.

Athletes participating in the WSO games are able to qualify for the National Senior Games, which take place bi-annually. A sampling of the sports offered by WSO includes archery, badminton, basketball, bowling, cornhole, cycling, golf, horseshoes, pickleball, powerlifting, softball, tennis, track and field, and volleyball.

“We see a lot of enthusiasm to compete from our Wisconsin athletes and throughout the upper Midwest. It’s an excellent way for athletes to set goals to stay in shape and get back in touch with sports where they’ve excelled,” Pollack said.
