Rainbow Community Care Presents Free “Strong Foundations” Event on Fall Prevention

Fort Atkinson, WI – Rainbow Community Care invites the public to a free community event focused on fall prevention, safety, and healthy living, taking place on Tuesday, September 30th, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The Strong Foundations: Fall Risk and Safety Checks Summit will be held at the Fort Atkinson Club, located at 211 S. Water St. E, with doors opening at 8:00 AM.

This event is hosted by the Faith Nurses of the Rainbow Community Health Ministry, and is open to older adults, caregivers, family members, and anyone interested in learning more about staying safe and steady at home and within their community. It will feature a variety of helpful resources, including:

  • Free fall risk screenings
  • Complimentary safety checks
  • Informative presentations from local professionals
  • Giveaways and educational resources
  • Opportunities to connect with community organizations that support safer living

The Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of Jefferson County will also be onsite to provide respite support for individuals living with mild cognitive impairment or dementia.

“Falls are a leading cause of injury for older adults, but many of these incidents are preventable,” said Rainbow Community Care Resource Liaison Britanie Peaslee. “This event is designed to provide practical tools and information to help people live safely and independently. We encourage everyone to attend and invite a friend.”

Whether you’re concerned about your own balance or are caring for someone who is, this is a great opportunity to receive helpful tips and support in a relaxed, friendly setting, and even enter a raffle for a gift basket and other giveaways. The event is a collaborative effort designed to raise awareness and provide valuable support and resources to community members on healthy living and community connection.
