Gymnasts Compete at Southwestern Invitational

On Saturday, January 23rd the Whitewater Whippet Gymnastics Team traveled to the Southwestern Invitational to compete in a six-team competition. The gymnasts had a successful meet scoring a team score of 114.95.

The highlights of the meet include JV team members Lauren Buehler scoring a 21.4 in the All-Around placing her 5th on the podium and a 7.2 on the Vault placing her 2nd on the podium. Brenda Aguilar scored a 7.6 on the Floor exercise placing her 2nd on the podium. Other highlights on the JV side were Brooke Bazeley scoring a 4.8 on Floor, Alexis Kuhnke scoring a 5.3 on Floor, and Isabelle Dieter scoring a 5.3 on Vault.

The Varsity team also had a successful competition. Jenna Caldwell placed 8th on Bars scoring a 7.55 and 9th on Vault scoring an 8.1. Halee Peters tied for 10th on Beam scoring a 7.725, placed 11th on bars scoring a 7.45, and tied for 12th on Vault scoring an 8.0. Caleigh Yang placed 11th on Beam with a score of 7.7. Anna Ejnik scored a 7. 575 on Beam and a 7.55 on Floor.

These Whitewater Whippet athletes will be back in action on Tuesday, January 26th, in an away triangular against BBG and WUW. Goooo, Whippets!!
