Former WHS Student, Emilie Kachel, Awarded Scholarship

The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse has announced is scholarship awards for 2018.  Emilie Kachel, a junior from Whitewater, has been awarded the Emma L. Wilder Endowment Scholarship.  The Wilder Scholarship is given to an outstanding sophomore, junior or senior enrolled in exercise science, health or sport science with at least a 3.5 GPA.

Emilie is double-majoring in Sports Management and Spanish.  She is a member of the UW-La Crosse chapter of the Golden Key Honor Society and has been named to the Dean’s list every semester.  Emilie is a member of the Spanish Club, the Sport Science Club, the Recreation Sports Diversity, and Inclusion Committee, Rainbow Unity Club, Spanish Club, the Intercultural Organization Promoting Awareness and is a global “buddy” for international students on campus.  Last summer she studied abroad in Seville, Spain. Emilie is an intern at the UW-La Crosse Athletic Department in External Affairs.  This summer, she will intern for the La Crosse Loggers baseball team.
