Flags to Half-staff in Honor of Former Vice President Richard Cheney

Richard “Dick” Cheney died on November 3, 2025. He was the 46th Vice President of the United States, serving under President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2009.

The flag on the White House was lowered to half-staff on November 4. As of the afternoon of November 5 it appears that no official proclamation has been issued calling for flags to be lowered; however, the U.S. Flag Code calls for this to occur from the day of death until interment of a former Vice President.
