Editor’s note: The following report was provided by Jeffrey Weigel.

A small but dynamic crew braved the soggy conditions last Saturday to remove trash and clear brush from Whitewater Creek near the skate park. In total, heroic volunteers fished out four tires, signposts, license plates, a traffic barrier, several shoes, and countless pop bottles and other nameless items that do not belong in the stream. Additionally, workers removed a great deal of pesky undergrowth that was creeping into the pedestrian path. Many thanks to Wilma, Anders and Jens Notstad, and Jenny Rule for their valiant efforts! Stay posted for further clean-up events this summer and fall. For more information or to get involved, please email Jeff at friendsofwhitewatercreek@gmail.com
