The City of Whitewater will be holding its First Annual Food Truck Festival to raise funds for the local library. The event will take place in the Irvin L. Young Memorial Library parking lot on Sunday, June 24th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is a family-friendly event and all are encouraged to attend.

Citizens can enjoy treats from local food trucks including Gourmet Kettle Korn, Mike’s Mr. Pizza, Route 26 Hamburger Stand, Kona Ice, Jakarta Café, Lefty’s Chicago Style Hot Dogs, Fib’s, Toast, dZi Little Tibet, Smoked on Wheels, and Pots ‘n Tots.

Each food truck will contribute a portion of the day’s proceeds to the Irvin L. Young Memorial Library.

“As everyone knows, city budgets are tight these days,” said Library Director, Stacey Lunsford. “The Library offers hundreds of events and workshops each year in which participants get to paint, make cheesecakes, create fairy gardens, make holiday crafts, taste local beers, solve a mystery over tea and scones, meet local authors, hear stories in English and Spanish, and dozens of other opportunities for which the Library doesn’t charge a fee.”

Programming and events are very important to many people around the Whitewater area. “Funds raised will support the Library’s commitment to fun experiences for all ages, year-round,” said Lunsford.
