In a small northern Wisconsin town, retired Marine Colonel/farmer Jack Hastings (Chris Cooper) becomes a national star when a YouTube video of his protest for undocumented migrant farm workers’ rights goes viral. Wanting to capitalize on this moment of liberal support in a Purple state, Democratic  strategist Gary Zimmer (Steve Carrell) taps him for the Democratic Party, to win back the district. One problem, Hastings is actually a Republican. Political fun in America’s Dairyland ensues. Written and directed by former “Daily Show” host Jon Stewart.
