State of Craft Beer
June 7, 6:00 p.m.
Irvin L. Young Memorial Library

The Irvin L. Young Memorial Library is happy to welcome author and photographer Matt Janzen, who’s put together a unique book about craft beer in Wisconsin, aptly titled “State of Craft Beer.”
Janzen traveled throughout the Badger State over the course of two years, visited more than 130 locations and snapped thousands of photos to compile a behind-the-scenes look at Wisconsin’s breweries. The photos and stories in the book explore every aspect of the brewing process, from the fields and factories that supply everything from hops and barley to brewing equipment and tap handles.

Even if you’re not a fan of craft beer, you will be captivated by the trends he discovered while driving over 30,000 miles to explore the economic impact of this booming industry. Learn how breweries are strengthening their communities, and how the importance of that story became a book.  He’ll speak about that journey, as well as overseeing the production of the book itself — which was 100 percent manufactured in Wisconsin – take questions and sign copies of his book.

This program is free.  No registration required.

Beer tasting provided by Second Salem Brewing Company will take place following the presentation, everyone is welcome to join us! Please bring your ID along as we will be checking them for the beer tasting portion of the program.
