Comments from Coach Dittmer:

The tournament consisted of 6 schools (Whitewater, Fort Atkinson, Baraboo, Kenosha St. Joseph, Sparta, and University Lake School). We played matches at Whitewater High School and UW-Whitewater. Each school played 3 meets during the tournament. I was very happy with how we played today and how our young players stepped up and performed well. Our singles lineup was crucial in our two team wins. Against Sparta we swept the singles matches and we won 3 out of 4 singles matches against Baraboo. Slate Spear and Austin Kaja are both off to undefeated starts at #1 and #2 singles respectively. Arno Crowley and Ramon Wence played really well in their first day as a doubles team. They won both their matches at #2 doubles which included a couple tiebreak wins. We were not as successful across the rest of doubles lineup in terms of wins, but I saw a lot of good shots by our guys during the day and can tell that they are continuing to improve with each meet. We had some varsity players who were unable to play today which gave some of our JV guys a chance to experience varsity action. As a team, we went 2-1 and took 3rd place at the invitational. Like I have said, I am really impressed with the way that the team is coming along this early in the season. Our record is now 3-1 which already ties our win total from last season.

Kenosha St. Joseph won the Invitational with a 3-0 record.
