From Coach Foucault:

Just like that the Whippets surge to 2-1 in the Southern Lakes Conference with two wins, beating both Delavan-Darien and PSC Aquatics. The Whippets were able to win 8 out of 11 races and posted 16 best times. Posting Top 10 times for All Time were Devin Bazeley in the 100 Butterfly and 100 Breaststroke and Young Liang in the 100 Freestyle. We had several swimmers try some new races with great success. Zach Tomomitsu swam the 200 Freestyle, Jon Chan swam the 200 Individual Medley, Wesley Salverson swam the 100 Butterfly, Shawn Chan and Antonio Aranda took on the long race of the night swimming the 500 Freestyle and Jonathan Manriquez tried out the 100 Breaststroke. It is important with a small team to have all the athletes be capable of swimming any event at any time. We are getting closer to that with every meet.

Winning events for the team were:

200 Medley Relay – Aidan Coburn, Young Liang, Devin Bazeley, Michael Kuhl

200 Freestyle – Jack Mayer

200 Individual Medley – Young Liang

50 Freestyle – Jack Mayer

100 Freestyle – Young Liang

500 Freestyle – Michael Kuhl

200 Freestyle Relay – Shawn Chan, Jonathan Manriquez, Antonio Aranda, Jack Mayer

100 Backstroke – Michael Kuhl

Swimming best times for the Whippets were:

Zach Tomomitsu and Jack Mayer, 200 Freestyle

Jon Chan and Wesley Salverson, 200 Individual Medley

Jon Zheng, 50 Freestyle

Wesley Salverson, Devin Bazeley and Jovany Manriquez, 100 Butterfly

Young Liang and Aidan Coburn, 100 Freestyle

Shawn Chan, Michael Kuhl and Antonio Aranda, 500 Freestyle

Michael Kuhl, 100 Backstroke

Jonathan Manriquez and Devin Bazeley, 100 Breaststroke

The swimmers are doing a great job competing on the relays, especially good splits or racing came from the following swimmers at this meet: Jonathan Manriquez in the 50 Backstroke and 50 Freestyle, Antonio Aranda in the 50 Freestyle and Zach Tomomitsu in the 50 Freestyle.

The Whippets won’t be back in action until Thursday, January 3rd at home starting at 6pm!
