Whippets swim team competes in Beloit

The team is still putting up fast times and getting better each week! The Whippets traveled to Beloit Memorial to compete against a field of mainly Division 1 teams this past Saturday. Coming home with medals was Young Liang with his 1st place finish in the 100 Breaststroke, beating 34 competitors and 2nd place finish in the 200 Breaststroke. Devin Bazeley swam a strong 500 Freestyle and posted the 5th fastest time All Time.

Other Whippets scoring points for top 16 finishes were:
10th place, 400 Medley Relay – Michael Kuhl, Devin Bazeley, Young Liang and Shawn Chan
16th place, 50 Freestyle – Shawn Chan
15th place, 100 Backstroke – Devin Bazeley
13th place, 400 Freestyle Relay – Jonathan Zheng, Antonio Aranda, Wesley Salverson, Jonathan Manriquez
11th place, 500 Freestyle – Devin Bazeley
15th place, 500 Freestyle – Michael Kuhl
7th place, 200 Freestyle Relay – Shawn Chan, Devin Bazeley, Michael Kuhl and Young Liang
16th place, 100 Butterfly – Shawn Chan

Earning best times while swimming were:
Wesley Salverson, 200 Freestyle -4 seconds and 100 Breaststroke
Antonio Aranda, 200 Freestyle -9 seconds and 100 Backstroke -3 seconds
Zach Tomomitsu, 50 Freestyle
Jon Zheng, 50 Freestyle -5 seconds
Jon Manriguez, 50 Freestyle -4 seconds
Devin Bazelely, 100 Backstroke and 500 Freestyle
Shawn Chan, 100 Butterfly
Young Liang, 200 Breaststroke

The Whippets will be taking on Delavan-Darien and The Prairie School/Racine St. Cats on Tuesday night in Delavan at 5:30pm.
