Whippet Girls Soccer falls to rival Evansville

On Tuesday, March 28th, Whitewater Girls Soccer hosted Rock Valley Conference rival Evansville succumbing to the Blue Devils 3-1.

In the fourth minute of the contest, Evansville’s Taylor Acker scored on an assisted corner kick. The Whippets picked up their play in the roller coaster contest and evened the score on a goal by Senior Jaden Henneman in the 71st minute of play. The Blue Devils struck again on a goal by Cassiah James to take a 2-1 lead. Evansville’s last goal came on a penalty kick in the 84th minute by James to end the score 3-1.

Overall the Whippets played a solid game, led by Seniors Meikayla Korf and Jaden Henneman with very solid midfield play by Crystal Chan and Melanie Reyes. Defensively, Brianna Zimdars, Mariana Cano, Josie Hintz and Hannah O’Brien played well. Cora Linos recorded six saves in goal.

Up next, the Whippets travel to Waterford on Tuesday, April 2.
