UW-W Women’s Basketball to Host UW-La Crosse in WIAC Semifinal

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women’s basketball team welcomes UW-La Crosse to Kachel Gymnasium Friday at 7 p.m. for a semifinal in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship (Presented by Culver’s).

Tickets for Friday’s game can be purchased online at tickets.uww.edu or at the door starting at 6 p.m. Tickets cost $8 per adult, $4 for senior citizens (ages 62 and over), $3 for students and free for children ages 4 and under.

The winner of Friday’s game advances to the tournament’s championship game, which is scheduled for Sunday at 2 p.m. at the highest remaining seed.

The second-seeded Warhawks (17-8 overall), who are ranked seventh in the latest NCAA Central Region rankings, enter the postseason with nine wins in their last 10 games. The team tied for second in the WIAC regular season standings with a 10-4 record and earned the tiebreaker for the No. 2 seed over UW-La Crosse thanks to its two wins over first-place UW-Oshkosh.

The Warhawks seek their third consecutive WIAC Championship title. UW-Whitewater is 11-18 all time in the conference tournament, including a 2-0 mark in games against UW-La Crosse.
