The No. 15 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women’s basketball team ended its game at UW-Stout Saturday with a 15-4 run to post a 76-67 triumph in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest in Menomonie, WI.

Senior guard Brooke Trewyn (Whitewater, WI) led the Warhawks with 17 points.

 


Senior forward Andrea Meinert (West Bend, WI/Kettle Moraine Lutheran) had 13 points.

 


Senior guard Malia Smith (Bolingbrook, IL/Neuqua Valley) had 11 points.

The Warhawks held UW-Stout to 37.3 percent shooting, including a 32.1 percent clip in the first half. UW-Whitewater hit 15-of-21 from the free-throw line, including 12-of-16 in the second half, and capitalized on 17 Blue Devil turnovers with 16 points off the miscues.

UW-Whitewater continues its road swing Wednesday at UW-Stevens Point. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. in Stevens Point, WI.
