Allison Heckert was on fire tonight, pouring in 30 points to lead Whitewater to a win against East Troy 75-47!  Ali Ketterhagen followed suit with 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Whippets.  Our team brought a lot of energy to the court tonight, and overall played well both halves, something that was high on our list.   We had contributions from many players, which was great to see.

Whippets will be looking to carry tonight’s momentum into Friday and back again when they travel to Jefferson Tuesday.

From Coach Judy Harms:

Oregon won a back & forth battle tonight over the visiting Whippet girls’ basketball team, 54-55, in a non-conference contest.  Oregon played with a strong fire coming out of the half after trailing by 8. Overall, I thought our girls did a great job playing together as a team despite Miranda Reynolds sidelined.  First half we did a nice job at both ends of the court, especially in grabbing boards and holding their big, Ellen McCorkle to only one bucket.  2^nd half McCorkle was more difficult to control, as we gave up 8 of her 10 points.  Defensively we absolutely did not contain their 3’s, which was very frustrating and the big difference in the game.

Allison Heckert led the Whippets with 19 points and 9 Rebounds.  Ali Ketterhagen scored 13 points while Abby Grosinske finished with 10.

JV Game was won by Oregon.
