The Whitewater High School Music Department presents its Winter Gala Concert on Monday, December 17th . Performers include: Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Bel Canto Choir, Cadenza Singers, Music Masters Ensemble, The Treblemakers, and WHS Ringers Handbell Choir. The UW-Whitewater Community Optimist Club is sparking some holiday cheer by serving a hot breakfast accompanied by Santa Claus and others from the North Pole.
The Optimist Club will be hosting their annual Breakfast with Santa event on Sat. December 8, 2018 from 8:00a.m.-10:45am at Esker Hall—which , Northwest of Starin Park at the corner of Prairie Street and Lauderdale.
With an admission of $5 for adults and $1 for children, come for a breakfast of French toast, sausage, donut holes, and coffee, milk 45 amand orange juice. Enjoy a morning filled with music, activities, and a special visit from Santa, Mrs. Claus, Frosty the Snowman, and many elves. Opportunities for printed and online photos will be available.
The holidays also bring about a time of giving, so we invite participants to bring new and unused hats, scarves, mittens, socks, underwear and gift cards to hang on Santa’s Mitten Tree. All items will , to children of the Whitewater Unified School District.
Keep warm with a cup of hot cocoa during the Parade of Lights from 5 to 8 pm on December 7 in Downtown Whitewater. Proceeds support the art programming at Studio 84 for people with disabilities.
Also, join Studio 84 for their 2nd Saturdays event on December 8 from 10 am to 4 pm. The special project for the month is holiday ornaments.
The First United Methodist Church of Whitewater will be presenting their Whitewater Area Ministry Christmas Cantata, “The Heart of Christmas” by Pepper Choplin, on December 9 at 10:00 AM and 4:30 PM at 145 S. Prairie Street in Whitewater.
The cantata incorporates blues, bluegrass, and traditional choral styles. Featured soloists are Katy Fortney, Nathan Roley, Barb Athas, Jenn Crone, and Ella Willman. The choir is accompanied by Jim Athas and directed by Christine Hayes. The narrations by the Rev. Phil Blackwell and the Rev. Susan Bresser tell the timeless Christmas story in a creative, profound way through the gospel of St. Luke. The choir will be accompanied by Bass, Drums, and Piano.
The Prime Time Youth Group of the Whitewater Area Regional Ministry of the United Methodist Church will host their annual Cookie Walk on Saturday, December 8 from 9 -11 am at First United Methodist Church, 145 S. Prairie St., Whitewater, WI.
All proceeds to support the youth mission trip 2019.

At $17 each, Holiday fruit baskets are a great gift idea for family, friends, teachers, clients, customers, and employees. Baskets will be filled with the highest quality oranges, apples, grapefruit, and pears available. Orders are due by December 12 with delivery on December 19. Downtown Whitewater will again host the Parade of Lights on December 7, 2018.
The evening will begin at 4 pm with a holiday market featuring outdoor vendors at the 4 corners of 1st Street and Main Street along with other downtown retailers who are open for holiday shopping and dining. We invite all members of the community to support local small businesses by joining us downtown for holiday shopping or dinner with friends and family on this festive evening.
Children’s activities will feature an opportunity to visit Santa, hosted and sponsored by First Citizens State bank at their downtown location at 207 W Main Street from 4 pm to 6 pm. After visiting Santa don’t forget to join Stories by the Fire also located within the bank. Do you want to build a snowman? Pick up a quick and child-friendly activity at Dales at 155 W Main Street sponsored by the Whitewater Kiwanis Breakfast Club! The fun doesn’t end there, you’ll find more take and make crafts and an in-person craft inside Quiet Hut Sports also sponsored by the Whitewater Kiwanis Breakfast Club.
All your downtown exploring will leave you wanting to warm up because this is Wisconsin, so make sure to stop by our s’mores firepit right outside the Discover Whitewater offices at 150 W Main Street. We’ll have the Selfie Sleigh available again this year as well as Christmas music to sing along while you await the parade’s arrival! And don’t miss some of the downtown decorations generously sponsored by Premier Bank. The parade route will run from Whitton Street along Main Street downtown to the intersection of Main Street and Whitewater Street where it rounds the corner and ends at Cravath Lakefront Park.
