Obituary: Linda Troemel (née LaBarbera), 74, of Punta Gorda, FL

Linda Troemel (née LaBarbera), age 74, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025, in Punta Gorda, Florida.

Born on March 7, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois, to Russell and Mary Lee LaBarbera, Linda spent most of her life in Whitewater, Wisconsin before relocating to Punta Gorda in 2021.

Raised in the restaurant industry while her parents owned Hackett’s Resort on Whitewater Lake, Linda continued that legacy throughout her life. She became the proud owner of The Richmond House in Richmond, Wisconsin, which she operated for more than 26 years. Through her dedication, kindness, and work ethic, she became a beloved presence in the community and made many lasting friendships.

Linda had a wonderful sense of humor, never met a stranger, and made friends wherever she went. She was a loving mother and an adoring grandmother whose family meant everything to her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Mary Lee LaBarbera; her sister, Ginger LaBarbera; and her brother, Russell LaBarbera Jr.

Linda is survived by her daughters, Lisa (Richard) Hyland and Jennifer (Todd) Connell; her grandchildren, Sophie, Cassie, and Richie Hyland, and Kennedy Connell; her sister, Diane Farwick; and many cousins, extended family members, and friends who cherished her deeply.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Whitewater at 841 Brewhouse, 841 E. Milwaukee St., Whitewater, WI on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 12:30 pm. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association in Linda’s memory.

Linda will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
