No. 17 Warhawks Earn Another Road Win

The No. 17 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women’s basketball team parlayed a strong third quarter into another non-conference victory on the road Wednesday night, besting Augustana 75-67 in Rock Island, Ill.

The Warhawks (4-1 overall) outscored the Vikings 23-12 in the third, holding Augustana to 5-of-15 shooting from the floor in the period to pick up their second straight win on a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin opponent’s home floor. (at No. 12 Illinois Wesleyan on Nov. 20)

Four players scored in double figures for UW-Whitewater, led by junior guard Becky Raeder, who registered 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the floor. Sophomore guard Adriana Green collected a career-best 13 points and two steals, and sophomore guard Emily Schumacher posted 12 points and six rebounds.

Senior center Becky Deichl tallied 11 points and three rebounds, and senior forward Olivia Freckmann grabbed a team-best 13 rebounds and added six points and one steal.
