What a beautiful night for track and field! The Whippets battled Elkhorn, Delavan-Darien, Lake Geneva Badger, Mukwonago, and Big Foot on Tuesday, June 1.
We had a chance to get in a nice tune-up meet before the conference championship next Wednesday at Big Foot. We had some really nice performances all the way around as our times continue to get faster, and field events continue to improve.
The boys’ 4X400 made up of Trenten Zahn, Ignacio Cuevas, Cooper Hammond, and Denver Isbell had a season best time of 3:40.
Crystal Chan eclipsed the 5′ barrier in the high jump.
The girls’ 4X100 and 4X200 again ran season bests of 51.63 and 1:50.44. Those teams consisted of Kacie Carollo, Kindyl Kilar, Madelyn Buehler, and Amanda Tovar.
Our throwers keep improving each week which is nice to see.
Now we’ve got about a week to prepare for the RVC Championship. It will be a fun battle as the conference is putting out a lot of really good performances.

The Whippet Track and Field Team travelled to Edgerton for the Tider Invitational on Friday night, May 28. The kids performed well despite the cool weather.
Amanda Tovar Finishing the 4 x 200 Kindyl Kilar Finishing the 4 x 100
The girls’ 4X200 had a season best of 1:50.4, winning the event. They came back to take the 4X100 as well. Those two teams included Kindyl Kilar, Kacie Carollo, Madelynn Buehler, and Amanda Tovar.
All of our throwers, Connor Raupp, Grace Foucault, Scottie Krebs, and Skylar Staebler, had personal bests as well, and it was nice to be able to see Dylan Duclos back in the pole vault for the first time this year after battling back from an injury.
Trenten Zahn ran an outstanding race in the 800, finishing second, and Cooper Hammond ran his first ever 3200 and did a great job.
Our sprinters continue to get faster and faster as we head toward the championship portion of the season.
Tuesday night we travel to Elkhorn for a meet with Lake Geneva, Delavan, Big Foot, Mukwonago, and Elkhorn.
