Lyle A Blaedow

(1933 – 2021)

Lyle A Blaedow: age 88, of Whitewater, WI passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 23, 2021.

Lyle was born in Waukesha, WI on July 4, 1933, the son of the late William and Orpha (Klix) Blaedow.  

Growing up in Little Prairie, WI Lyle had two brothers and two sisters (Beverly, Judith, Wayne, and Robert “Rocky”).

On October 25, 1951, Lyle married the love of his life Theressa S Grelewics.  Together, they had seven children (Dan, Mike, Debbie, Tim, Randy, Kim and Chris).  Theressa passed in September 1999.

Lyle worked for over 25 years at Trent Tube in East Troy Wisconsin.  Upon retiring, Lyle’s primary focus was his family, traveling, fishing, and becoming closer to his Lord and Savior.  Lyle would often say, “there is a better place for us after our life here on earth is over and that he was ready when the Lord wanted him”.

In recent years, Lyle enjoyed Friday night fish fries with his son Dan and daughter-in-law Dori.  Sunday dinners with his son Kim and daughter-in-law Brenda.  He was also an avid bowler and especially enjoyed spending time with his sister Beverly and her husband Richard shopping and joining friends at the senior center.

Lyle was a devoted and loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother who will be greatly missed.  At the end of every encounter, Lyle would always take the time to say, “I love you”.

Lyle also enjoyed sharing his cat Sammy with his many friends and neighbors at Mulberry Glen Apartments.  Neighbors would ask Lyle to “bring Sammy out” so they too could enjoy Sammy’s antics.

Lyle was preceded in death by his father, William, mother, Orpha, wife of 47 years Theressa, daughter Debbie, sons Randy and Michael, brother Wayne, sister Judith Foltz and grandson Mikey .

Lyle is survived by his sons Dan (Dori), Tim (Antonio), Kim (Brenda) and Chris (Maggie) as well as by many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.  Lyle is further survived by his sister Beverley (Richard) Grosskreutz of Whitewater, WI, his brother Rocky Blaedow of Rhinelander, WI and his sister-in-law Ginger Blaedow of Palmyra, WI and a host of relatives and friends.

Memorial service will be held 1:00 pm Thursday January 6, 2022 at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home 730 N. Obituary: Ernestine “Ernie” Vanderlin, 97, of Madison

Ernestine “Ernie” Vanderlin, 97, of Madison passed away peacefully on Friday, December, 25, 2021 loved by family and friends, at Our House Senior Living in Cambridge.

She was born on March 12, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Francis and Albina (Volkar) Schonta.  She was very proud of her Slovenian heritage.  She graduated from St. Mary’s High School and the University of Chicago, where she met her husband, Carl J. Vanderlin Jr. They were married September 16, 1950 in Chicago.  He preceded her in death March 12, 1982.  They resided in Chicago and Whitewater before settling permanently in Madison in 1961.  She retired in 1991 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she served as Political Science and Pre-Law Advisor.

In 1968, Carl’s position with the University of Wisconsin allowed them to spend three years living in Nairobi, Kenya as part of a foreign aid project.  The experience was one that she cherished and which had a great effect on her life.  While there, Ernie taught English and shorthand at Kianda College in Nairobi.  Ernie enjoyed travel, and often visited her children living in other parts of the United States.  She enjoyed music, reading, sewing in her spare time, and cooking for family, friends, and colleagues.  She also loved to enjoy a daily shot of Jameson’s Irish Whiskey.

Ernie is survived by her six children; Geoff (Roberta) Vanderlin of Dixon, IL, Eric (Anya Piampongsarn) Vanderlin of Albany, CA, Martha Vanderlin of Wailuku, HI, Jenny (Charlie Pors) Vanderlin, Pam (John) Noyd, of Madison, Molly Vanderlin of Madison; and three grandchildren; Scott (Margot Wojdyla) Vanderlin, Carrie (Dan) Widolff, and James Noyd as well as two great-grandchildren; Quinn Widolff-Behrens and Caia Widolff, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Frank (Marcella), Robert (Beatrice) Schonta; and son-in-law, Tim Wheeler.

There will be no public service during this difficult time, but a Celebration of Ernie’s life will be held at a later date when we can all gather safely.

It was Ernie’s wish that any memorial tributes be made in the form of charitable donations to Our House Senior Living – Cambridge or Heartland Hospice – Madison.

The family would like to recognize and thank the staff at Our House Senior Living in Cambridge and her teams at Heartland Hospice and My Choice; and all who visited her, brought her treats, and made her smile.

Obituary: Jessica Marie Osterberg, 40

Jessica Marie Osterberg, age 40 passed away unexpectedly Tuesday December 21, 2021 at her home.  Jessica was born April 2, 1981 to Larry and Evelyn (Nugen) Maize.  She graduated from Whitewater High School in 1999.  She obtained her certification as a Medical Assistant and then married the love of her life Andrew Osterberg on May 3, 2003.  She worked for many years in surrounding area clinics and currently worked at Blackhawk Technical College. 

Jessica was a kind soul with a generous heart. She possessed a magical spark of joy that those around her cherished. She loved socializing, traveling, getting dressed up and spending time with family and friends.  She was a supportive friend and loved by many. 

Jessica is survived by her husband Andy, her father Larry (Karen) Maize, sisters Mary Ellen (Jason) Mackey and Katlyn Maize, step-father Samuel Rasch, step-brother David Rasch, mother and father-in-law Karlyn and Randy Osterberg, and brothers-in-law Jeffrey (Melinda) Osterberg, and Karl (Tina) Osterberg.  She was preceded in death by her mother Evelyn Rasch, and her grandparents.

Visitation will be Friday December 31, 2021 from 5pm-7pm at the Albrecht Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Milton, WI.  Masks are recommended but not required.  

A private family burial will be held at Hillside Cemetery, Whitewater, WI.  The Albrecht Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Milton is assisting the family with arrangements.  

Obituary: Jeanette Carol Addie (nee Adams), 94

Jeanette Carol Addie (nee Adams), 94, lifelong resident of Whitewater, Wisconsin died peacefully on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg.  She was 28 hours shy of celebrating her 95th birthday on Christmas.,

Jeanette was born in Kenosha on December 25, 1926, the daughter of William F. and Lorena (Nourse) Adams.  She graduated from Whitewater High School and was employed for over thirty-five years as the admission examiner at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, retiring in 1989.  On June 23, 1945, Jeanette married her high school sweetheart, Lloyd Addie.  Together, they had three beautiful children.

Jeanette was a devoted wife and mother.  She was an avid golfer and scored a hole in one! Jeanette was a league bowler, Bridge player, and enjoyed life at Whitewater Lake in the family home.  She played tenor saxophone and piano, having an uncanny knack of listening to music and immediately could play the song on her piano.  Jeanette was a past member of the Minneiska Masonic Lodge.  She was a hardworking woman who often dealt with difficult life transitions, including the loss of her parents, sister, husband, and two of her three children.  

Jeanette will be deeply missed by her daughter, Stacia Star of Ripon, Wisconsin; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Lloyd Addie; son, Jeffrey Addie; and daughter, Dianne Meyer.

Funeral services will take place at 11AM on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Nitardy Funeral Home, 1008 Madison Avenue, Fort Atkinson, WI.  A visitation will take place from 10AM until the time of service.  A burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Elkhorn.  A celebration of life dinner will take place later this coming Spring.

Obituary: Ellen Tucker, 86

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ellen Tucker, 86, on December 24, 2021 from her battle with cancer.  Ellen was born in Palmyra, WI on May 30, 1935. She sang at her first funeral at age 9.  She also sang at weddings, on WCLO Radio and on TV, with one of her many talents being yodeling.

Ellen graduated from WHS in 1952, and married Dean Tucker of Whitewater on July, 13, 1957.  She worked as a telephone switchboard operator and in the UW Whitewater campus police department until her retirement. She belonged to the First English Lutheran Church of Whitewater, where she planned funeral luncheons for its members for many years. 

Ellen was an excellent cook and baker, known for her platters of Christmas cookies and homemade candy, including her famous caramels! She enjoyed motorcycling, gardening and visits with family and friends.

Ellen is survived by Dean, her husband of  64 years, her children Gary Tucker of Oregon City, OR, daughter DeAnn DiPrima of Antioch, IL, grandchildren Sean (Liane) DiPrima of Beloit, WI, Paige DiPrima of Antioch, IL, brother Jerry (Shirley) Grant of Whitewater, sister-in-law Shirley (Eugene) Grant of Batavia, IL and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Eddie, Doris, Margie, Eugene, Sharon, and a baby daughter.

The family would like to give a special thank-you to Agrace Hospice for the care they have given Ellen in her final days.  We would also like to thank family and friends for the many flowers, cards, calls, texts, visits, kind words and prayers that you have given; please know how appreciated and loved you are, and that we are truly grateful to you all.

Visitation will be held at Nitardy Funeral Home in Whitewater on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 5 PM to 7 PM. Obituary: Myron P. Seaver, 83, of Delavan

Myron P. Seaver, age 83, of Delavan passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 25, 2021 at home.  He was born in Clinton Township on March 26, 1938 to Arthur and Rose (Bieber) Seaver.  Myron graduated from Walworth High School in 1956.  In 1964, he married Sylvia White and they were blessed with 2 children, Susan and Chris.  In his earlier years, Myron worked as a superintendent at Bigfoot and Evergreen Golf Course.  He worked for Wisconsin Turf as an on the road salesman for over 30 years.  Myron was united in marriage to Margaret “Peg” Bylsma on April 28, 2000 at Delavan UCC.  Myron was an avid golfer with 3 holes-in-one to his credit.  He also enjoyed watching the Packers and Bucks, baking, junk collecting, and was known for his huge yard sales.  Myron had a great sense of humor, never met a stranger, and loved being a grandpa. 

        
Myron is survived by his wife, Peg; daughter, Susan (Lee) Rowley, of Louisiana; son, Christopher Seaver, of Wauwatosa; three stepchildren, Stephanie (Kelly) Bylsma, of Elkhorn, Shane (Jennifer) Bylsma, of Rockton, IL, and Amanda Bylsma, of Janesville; nine grandchildren, Ryan and Mimi Rowley, Katherine, Ella, and Sophia Seaver, Margaret “Maggie” and William Mroch, Hunter Bylsma, and Nicholas Matchett; special cousin, Bonnie Olson, of South Beloit, IL; nephew, Herbie Seaver; and many nephews and cousins. 


Myron is preceded in death by his parents; a sister; brothers; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. 


Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M – 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Monroe Funeral Home, 604 E. Obituary: Martha “Marty” Ellen Meske, 63 (Updated with Photo)

Martha “Marty” Ellen Meske, 63, of Whitewater passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021 peacefully at her home surrounded by her family.

Marty was born on February 2, 1958 in Elkhorn to Myron and Helen (Tremaine) Coerper.  She was employed at The Coburn Company in Whitewater for over thirty years.  Marty married Bruce Meske and were happily married until his passing in 2008.  Marty married her lifetime friend, Raymond Witterholt, in November 2, 2021. 

She enjoyed spending time up north, loved traveling, had a great sense of direction, enjoyed finding new casinos, four-wheeling and going on motorcycle rides, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Marty is survived by her husband, Raymond Witterholt; children, Melissa (Keith) Gersich , Stephanie Witterholt, Garret (Becca) Witterholt; grandchildren, Baylie Wickingson, Cole Marinez, Russell and Matilda Schubert; sister, Susan Coerper; and brother, David Coerper.

She is preceded in death by parents, Myron and Helen Coerper; husband, Bruce Meske; son-in-law, Mitchel Lynch; and granddaughter, Dylan Ortiz.

Obituary: Lois Ann Olds, 87, of Friendship, WI

Lois Ann Olds, age 87, of Friendship, Wisconsin passed away Friday, December 10, 2021 at Fair View Nursing Home in Mauston, Wisconsin.

Lois was born July 18, 1934 in Capron County, Illinois.  She was the daughter of Herbert and Mabel Eggleston.   She married Charles J. Olds on October 18, 1952 in Whitewater, Wisconsin.  They were married for 69 years. 

Lois had a green thumb and could make anything grow.  She always had a garden and canned everything.  Lois also had flowers galore. She was an avid knitter and crocheter.  Lois also loved putting puzzles together and baking.  She also had a love for cats.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Mabel Eggleston; son, Dennis Ray Olds; sisters:  Irene Heedrick and Eileen Culver; and sisters-in-law, Florence Eggleston and Lorraine Mould.

Survivors: Husband, Charles J. Olds; daughter, Deborah McDonal of Friendship, WI; sons: Greg (Sandy) Olds of Whitewater, WI; Jeff Olds of New Lisbon, WI; Keith (Helen) Olds of Whitewater, WI; and Scott Olds of Friendship, WI; grandchildren:  Ben, Katie, Tina, Tarina, Amanda, Jerrica, Nicki, Emily,  and Tracy; and great-grandchildren:  Cooper, Tucker, Dakota, Hayden, Skye, Braxton, Ophilia, Javian, and Cameron; brothers: Kenneth Eggleston of Adams-Friendship and Robert Eggleston of Florida.   Further survived by many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Obituary: Rebecca Lynn Germundson, 31 (Updated: facial coverings requested inside church)

Rebecca Lynn Germundson, 31, of Whitewater WI, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2021. She was the daughter of Tom and Patricia (McCulloch) Germundson.

Rebecca was born April 22, 1990 in Fort Atkinson, WI. She graduated from Whitewater High School in 2008. Becca worked for many years as a caregiver which was something she loved to do. She also loved to go fishing, especially ice fishing when she could drive around on the four-wheeler. She had a love for animals, especially dogs. Rebecca will be remembered for her sense of humor and caring soul. She had so much love for all of her family and friends and would never part ways without saying “I love you.”

She is survived by her parents, Tom and Patricia Germundson, sisters Natalie and Erica Germundson, Grandparents Elmer and Marcie McCulloch, many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

She is preceded in death by her Grandparents, Nyle and Doris Germundson and brother Jason McCulloch and childhood dog Chipper boy.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Whitewater, WI. There will be a gathering in Fellowship Hall following the service with coffee and snacks. It is requested that face coverings be worn while inside the church.
