Obituary: Lois Ann Olds, 87, of Friendship, WI

Lois Ann Olds, age 87, of Friendship, Wisconsin passed away Friday, December 10, 2021 at Fair View Nursing Home in Mauston, Wisconsin.

Lois was born July 18, 1934 in Capron County, Illinois.  She was the daughter of Herbert and Mabel Eggleston.   She married Charles J. Olds on October 18, 1952 in Whitewater, Wisconsin.  They were married for 69 years. 

Lois had a green thumb and could make anything grow.  She always had a garden and canned everything.  Lois also had flowers galore. She was an avid knitter and crocheter.  Lois also loved putting puzzles together and baking.  She also had a love for cats.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Mabel Eggleston; son, Dennis Ray Olds; sisters:  Irene Heedrick and Eileen Culver; and sisters-in-law, Florence Eggleston and Lorraine Mould.

Survivors: Husband, Charles J. Olds; daughter, Deborah McDonal of Friendship, WI; sons: Greg (Sandy) Olds of Whitewater, WI; Jeff Olds of New Lisbon, WI; Keith (Helen) Olds of Whitewater, WI; and Scott Olds of Friendship, WI; grandchildren:  Ben, Katie, Tina, Tarina, Amanda, Jerrica, Nicki, Emily,  and Tracy; and great-grandchildren:  Cooper, Tucker, Dakota, Hayden, Skye, Braxton, Ophilia, Javian, and Cameron; brothers: Kenneth Eggleston of Adams-Friendship and Robert Eggleston of Florida.   Further survived by many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Obituary: Rebecca Lynn Germundson, 31 (Updated: facial coverings requested inside church)

Rebecca Lynn Germundson, 31, of Whitewater WI, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2021. She was the daughter of Tom and Patricia (McCulloch) Germundson.

Rebecca was born April 22, 1990 in Fort Atkinson, WI. She graduated from Whitewater High School in 2008. Becca worked for many years as a caregiver which was something she loved to do. She also loved to go fishing, especially ice fishing when she could drive around on the four-wheeler. She had a love for animals, especially dogs. Rebecca will be remembered for her sense of humor and caring soul. She had so much love for all of her family and friends and would never part ways without saying “I love you.”

She is survived by her parents, Tom and Patricia Germundson, sisters Natalie and Erica Germundson, Grandparents Elmer and Marcie McCulloch, many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

She is preceded in death by her Grandparents, Nyle and Doris Germundson and brother Jason McCulloch and childhood dog Chipper boy.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Whitewater, WI. There will be a gathering in Fellowship Hall following the service with coffee and snacks. It is requested that face coverings be worn while inside the church.

Obituary: Andrew “Andy” Thomas Gross II, 36

Andrew “Andy” Thomas Gross II, 36, of Whitewater passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Fort Memorial Hospital.

Andy was born on September 24, 1985 in West Allis to Andrew and Evelyn (Keehn) Gross. He was first employed at Center Street Super Value Grocery Store in Whitewater. He then moved to the West Coast for several years, where he was married and together they had one daughter, Cassie, who was his entire world. He returned to Whitewater in 2019 and began working at Home Lumber. His goal in life was to have a family.

He enjoyed going fishing with friends, squidding, playing PC games, building and woodworking, cooking and smoking meats, and especially spending time with his daughter and family. He was very handy and loved working with cars and motorcycles.

Andy is survived by his father, Andrew Gross; mother, Evelyn (Doug) Schickinger; daughter, Cassie Gross; siblings, Joey (Amanda) Gross, Charlie Gross, Katie (Nick) Carpenter, Sami Gross; wife, Bethany Gross; paternal grandmother, Harriet Gross; many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

He is preceded in death by maternal grandparents; paternal grandfather; cousins; and uncle.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Pham and his nurse, Cee, for their exceptional care at UW-Hospital in Madison.

Obituary: Robert Francis Wojtkunski, 81

Robert Francis Wojtkunski, 81, born October 10th, 1940 in Whitewater, Wisconsin, passed away December 12th, 2021 at Alden Estates of Jefferson.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents Mike and Neeva Wojtkunski, brother and sister in law Edward (Mary) Wojtkunski, and sister Carol Gabriel.

Survivors include brothers William (Sandy), Thomas (Cathie), Michael (Gail); a sister Mary, several nieces and nephews.

Obituary: Pamela Sue Lohff (PAM), 78

Pang Cha Chun born April 20, 1943 in Busan South Korea passed away at her home in Whitewater, Wisconsin on Sunday December 12, 2021. Required by Japanese imperial decree, she was given the name Yoshika, many who knew her called her Yoshi. Emigrating to the United States in 1969, she gained her U.S. Citizenship, and proudly carried the papers with her until the day of her death reflecting her forever name – Pamela Sue Lohff (PAM)

Pam resided in Merrill, Wisconsin for many years where she worked at the Weinbrenner Shoe Co. as a sample clerk until her retirement, also in Necedah, and lastly Whitewater. Pam enjoyed gardening and tending to her vegetables and many flowers. She enjoyed knitting & crochet, making just about everything. She was a great cook and her amazing Korean recipes were enjoyed by many.

Pam is survived by her sons, Rodney (Tammie) Lohff of Whitewater, WI, Chad (Michelle) Lohff of Wausau, WI, her daughter Susanne (Scott) Boden of Twin Falls, ID, and her grandchildren Lawton (Mariah) Lohff, Lauren Lohff, Kami (Jake) Sluder, Chase Boden, Morgan Boden, and special friend Larry Hicks of Whitewater. She was preceded in death by her grandson Justin Mallory.

Obituary: Dolores Annabelle Millis Boynton, 95

Dolores Annabelle Millis Boynton passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Reena Senior Living in Fort Atkinson.

Dolores was born on January 8th, 1926 in Sullivan to Mathew (Max) and Frieda (Schultz) Millis. She graduated from Whitewater High School in 1944.

Survivors include 3 sons, Robert Boynton Jr., Brent (Roxanne) Boynton, and Kevin (Lisa) Boynton; daughter Denise (Randall) Klefbohm; 4 grandsons, Jason and Colin Boynton, Garrett (Beth) Godfrey, William Godfrey and his children Mark and Lynden. She is also survived by 2 sisters, Elaine Landis and Maxine Striegl.

Dolores was predeceased by her parents; 2 brothers, Dean and Donald Millis; and 2 brothers in law Alvin Landis and Les Striegl.

A private funeral service will be held with burial in Hillside Cemetery.

Obituary: Carlos “JC” Fernandez Jr., 46, of Racine

Carlos “JC” Fernandez Jr., 46, of Racine passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021 at Ascension All Saints Hospital in Racine.

JC was born on October 2, 1975 in Chicago to Juan “Carlos” Marrero and Maria Rodriguez. 

He enjoyed cooking and watching the Cooking channel, video games, being a DJ and singing, and working on pool tables with his dad. 

JC is survived by his parents, Juan and (Jackie) Marrero and Maria Rodriguez; daughter, Sadie McGinnis-Fernandez; sisters, Chrisy Rodriguez, Angela Fernandez, Amanda Butera and Alexis Marrero; many nieces, nephews and cousins.  

He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Aida Fernandez; maternal grandparents, Juanita and Donato Rodriguez.

Obituary: Douglas Lester Mayer, 92

Douglas Lester Mayer, 92, passed away at Hearthstone Memory Care on December 10, 2021 with his family present. Douglas was born on June 8, 1929 to Clarence and Selma Mayer (Matter). Douglas grew up with his parents, brothers and sisters in Waterford WI. After graduation from Waterford Union High School, Douglas proudly served his country by joining the army. He served from 1951 to 1953 earning an honorable discharge.  On November 26, 1955 he married the love his life, Mary “Ginger” Rassel and they settled in Waterford, WI to start and build their life together. Doug’s strong faith and belief in family and country is reflected in the way he lived. After struggling to start a family, Doug and Ginger began as foster parents while waiting to adopt children of their own. Through the course of their marriage, they took care of 22 foster children, and were able to adopt four children as their own.

In 1968, Douglas completed the training program for the Wisconsin State Patrol, where he served the citizens of Walworth County, and the State of Wisconsin for 26 years. During this time, he worked as the Court Officer for Walworth County, and worked closely with the Walworth County Sheriff’s Department, District Attorney’s office and as Governor Thompson’s escort. In addition, Doug served as Treasurer for Town of Waterford and was a member of Knights of Columbus.

Everyone who knew Doug, knew his wife and children were the most important part of his life. He never failed to talk about his kids to whoever listened, and until the day he died, spoke of Ginger as the love of his life.

Douglas is survived by his wife Ginger; children: Julie Chriske (John); Lori Schiemann (Paul); Paul Mayer, Angela Hanna (Bryan); grandchildren, Joshua Maerzke (Lindsey), Sarah Wolf, Jacob Maerzke, Benjamin Maerzke, Rachael Maerzke, Justin (Diana) Schiemann, Jessica Schiemann, Aaron Schiemann, Samantha Mayer, Breanna Hanna, Talayeh Hanna, Brayden Hanna; great grandchildren, Alysse Maerzke. Paige Huerta-Schiemann, Noah Schiemann, Bianka Schiemann, Jack Wolf, Charlie Messer, Walter Clark II; sisters Gloria Coe, Diane Janke, and Margie Staebler.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: David, Daniel, Roger, Frank, Ronald, Darlene; son-in-law Paul D. Schiemann, and numerous other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12PM on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Nitardy Funeral Home in Whitewater. A visitation will take place from 10AM until the time of service. A burial will take place at a later date at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Cemetery in Union Grove.

The family would like to thank the staff at Hearthstone Memory Care for loving Doug and treating him as part of their family. Special thanks to Stephanie, Jessica, Terri, and Sarah. In addition, the family would like to thank Rainbow Hospice, especially Kendra for taking care of dad as he neared the end of his life. (Nee Coburn) Born to eternal life on Wednesday, December 8th, 2021, age 83 years. Beloved wife of Jerold. Dear mother of Sheldon (Emily) Lenz. Loving grandmother of Rachel, Rebecca, and Joshua. Sister of Karen (the late Joseph Svec) Coburn and the late James (Virginia) Coburn. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
