Wayne Russell Wilson, 69, Whitewater, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at his home.

Wayne was born on August 22, 1949 in Wisconsin Rapids to Russell and Lynette (Zuege) Wilson. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids in 1967. After high school Wayne attended barber training at Madison Area Technical College. Wayne married Karleen Ironside in Wisconsin Rapids on August 3, 1968. They moved to Whitewater where Wayne owned and operated Wayne’s Hair Emporium and worked for 20 years for Hawthorne Melody. He and Karleen enjoyed making maple syrup for many years with their family. He also enjoyed golfing, camping and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years Karleen; children Shane (Ericka) Wilson, Gays Mills, WI, Amy Wilson, Goose Creek, SC; grandchildren Trevor (T’Naya) Wilson, Brody, Carter and Paige Wilson; great-grandchildren Trevor Jr. and Troy Wilson; sister Judy Nelson, Wisconsin Rapids, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside Services will be held in the spring of 2019 at the Forest Hills Cemetery in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.
