University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Chancellor Beverly Kopper and Vice Chancellor for Administrative Affairs Grace Crickette were both inducted into the Whitewater Kiwanis Breakfast Club on Tuesday. Kopper gave a presentation about UW-Whitewater and included information about the re-structuring of UW-Rock County, which will become a part of UW-Whitewater.

She also talked about the celebration of the 150th birthday of UW-Whitewater and all of the events in conjunction with the Sesquicentennial. For example, there will be a free family-friendly summer concert series, with the first concert on Friday, June 8 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., just off Main Street on the Wyman pedestrian mall at UW-W. The Summer Concert Series is one of many ways UW-Whitewater is marking its Sesquicentennial.

UW-Whitewater has a culture of service, and they are committed to helping others and making their communities stronger. In honor of the university’s Sesquicentennial celebration, their goal is to exceed 150,000 hours of community service collectively performed by members of the Warhawk family and the Whitewater community. They want to recognize and celebrate the multitude of ways students, faculty, staff, and alumni contribute their time, talents and expertise to the city, state, nation, and the world. The University is encouraging everyone in the community to keep track of their volunteer hours via the site: http://www.uww.edu/150/service. For more information about all of the Sesquicentennial events, visit uww.edu/150.
