Whippet Volleyball Falls to #8 East Troy

Tuesday night, 10/8, the Whitewater volleyball team celebrated their 2019 Senior Night in front a large, loud Homecoming crowd, led by the UWW Warhawk volleyball team. The Warhawks encouraged the high school students with many cheers, which helped make the gym roar. Before the start of the match junior Kacie Carollo spoke on behalf of the team about the only senior, #6 Maddie Arnett. Here is what Kacie shared with everyone one in the gym: “On behalf of the Whippet Volleyball program we want to thank Maddie Arnett, our only senior, for her dedication and loyalty to volleyball the last four years! She has been a great teammate, friend, and big sister to all of us. She truly embodies what it means to be a Whippet athlete, and we wish her the best with her future! Thank you, Maddie!”

The Whippets fought hard against the #8 DII team in the state, East Troy, but lost 25-13, 25-20, 25-12. I am very pleased with how well the team played. Our defense is reading opponent hitters much better and continues to make strides forward pursuing balls. The team needs to keep working on more consistent first ball contact so they can run a fast tempo and stay in system. The Whippets served tough and aggressive which resulted in East Troy not being able to set their primary hitters.
