
The League of Women Voters Whitewater Area is pleased to announce a public program on Understanding Health Care Policy to Support Personal Wellness on Wednesday, October 14th, 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM at the Whitewater Public Library, 431 W Center St, Whitewater.
Caroline Gomez-Tom, Milwaukee County Supervisor, will offer an overview of health care options, changes in recent health care policy, and how community members can get involved in helping people navigate a complicated health care system.
Caroline Gomez-Tom works for Covering Wisconsin as the Enrollment Network and Accessibility Manager and is supporting 10 enrollment networks and community partnerships to help connect the community to Medicaid and HealthCare.gov health coverage access and health insurance enrollment assistance. Covering Wisconsin is a program of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension,
As a Milwaukee County Supervisor, she currently serves as the chair of the Milwaukee County Emergency Medical Services Council and the Intergovernmental Relations Committee. She is vice chair for the Health Equity, Human Needs, and Strategic Planning and the Community, Environment, and Economic Development Committees. She is also a member of the Wisconsin Counties Association Board of Directors. Caroline also serves on the City of Milwaukee Board of Health.
