Brian Brunner filed his non-candidacy paperwork which means that he will not seek re-election for the Whitewater Unified School District School Board in the spring election. This means there will be a minimum of one (1) vacancy on the School Board. One (1) other position will also be on the spring ballot; that position is presently filled by Jim Stewart.
Residents of the Whitewater Unified School District are encouraged to consider seeking a position on the School Board. The filing date for those interested in becoming a candidate is Wednesday, January 2, 2019, by 5:00 p.m.
Any person who is a United States citizen and a qualified elector of the Whitewater Unified School District is legally qualified to become a member of the School Board. In addition, members of the Board should have a genuine interest in and devotion to public education, a willingness to give time and effort to the position, a capacity to understand people, and the ability to work cooperatively with others.
The School Board encourages citizens to give serious consideration to become a School Board candidate. The Whitewater Unified School District School Board is actively involved in doing what’s best for the students, staff, and the community of Whitewater.
