The Whitewater Unified School District has been notified that two teachers from the district have been chosen to receive the prestigious Kohl Teacher Fellowship Award. Kate McNulty, Whitewater High School Spanish teacher, and Carmen Behrens, Whitewater Middle School French teacher, have been chosen among hundreds of nominees across the state for this honor. The Kohl Teacher Fellowship program recognizes and supports teaching excellence and innovation in the State of Wisconsin, USA. Their goal is to support teachers in the pursuit of their unrealized goals for their classrooms or professional development. The 100 Herb Kohl Fellowship recipients and the 100 schools of those teachers will each receive a $6,000 grant and will be recognized at a spring banquet.
Whitewater High School is also proud to announce that high school senior, Connor Steinke, has been selected as a 2018 Herb Kohl Excellence Scholarship recipient. Connor was chosen to receive this $10,000 award because of his exceptional scholarship, leadership, citizenship, and school & community involvement.
Connor Steinke, Kate McNulty, and Carmen Behrens, along with their guests, will be recognized at a regional luncheon on Saturday, April 14 at Monona Grove High School. Congratulations to all the Whitewater Kohl winners!
