The girls’ softball team defeated Clinton on Tuesday by a score of 14-8. This puts the Lady Whippets at 5 wins and 0 losses to start the season. The Whippets sit atop the Rock Valley Conference with a 4-0 record.
Sara Johnson has led the way with the bat and on the mound. Sara is hitting .636 with a team leading 13 runs batted in. Sara is also undefeated as a pitcher going 4-0 with 1 save. Alyssa Schumacher (.692), Bryce Hibbs (.550), and Kiyla Kopecky (.421) have also been hot with the bats. Kopecky leads the team with 2 homeruns. The team is batting .430 as a whole.
The Whippets have a tough week coming up as they play East Troy at home on Tuesday, Beloit Turner at Beloit on Thursday, and then finish the week with a doubleheader at home against McFarland on Saturday. All three teams are top contenders in the Rock Valley.
