Men’s Basketball: No. 5 UW-Whitewater 67, UW-La Crosse 64 (OT)

The UW-Whitewater men’s basketball team took down UW-La Crosse, 67-64, in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference thriller Saturday afternoon.

UW-Whitewater and UW-La Crosse (10-7 overall, 2-4 WIAC) recorded 27 lead changes in the contest and tied at the end of regulation to send the game to overtime.  The Warhawks outscored the Eagles 11-8 in overtime to get the victory.

The No. 14 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women’s basketball team erased a deficit that reached as many as eight points in the second half Saturday afternoon but was outlasted 66-62 against UW-La Crosse in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest on Alumni Day at Kachel Gymnasium.

Trailing 53-45 with 6:04 to play in the fourth quarter, the Warhawks (14-3 overall, 4-2 WIAC) charged back with a 12-2 run, taking a 57-55 advantage after a free throw by senior guard Brooke Trewyn with 2:23 on the clock.
