Candidate Forum for State Assembly District 43 on October 5

The LWV Whitewater Area, in co-sponsorship with the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin, will hold a candidate forum for the Wisconsin State Assembly District 43 race on Saturday morning, October 5, 9:30 AM – 11 AM. The forum will be held in the City of Whitewater Common Council Chambers, located in Whitewater City Hall, 312 W Whitewater Street.

The candidates vying for Assembly District 43 are Brienne Brown (Democrat) and Scott Johnson (Republican). Assembly District 43 is an open district resulting from the 2024 redistricting that was signed into law by Governor Evers. To view the 2024 boundaries of Assembly District 43, click here. [The entire city of Whitewater is included in the district.] League member Lynn Binnie will serve as moderator. The forum will be filmed by Whitewater Community TV.

League forums are held to encourage informed participation in government. Candidate questions are submitted on cards from audience members throughout the program. Questions are first reviewed by League members, whose job it is to sort the questions by topic, check for redundancy and to be sure that questions are relevant to all the candidates. The League does not accept questions targeted to a specific candidate. Candidate questions prepared by the Whitewater League board are used only if questions from voters fail to fill the forum’s timeframe.

Bring your family and friends and arrive in time to submit questions before the forum starts! Be an active participant in our democracy!

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization that encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
