Three Finalists Selected for Whitewater Chief of Police Position

The Police and Fire Commission of the City of Whitewater is pleased to announce that they have selected three finalists for the position of Chief of Police.

Interviews for the three candidates will take place Thursday, March 1, 2018. A community “Meet and Greet” for the finalists will be held at the Cravath Lakefront Building from 5:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. This Meet and Greet is open to the public and citizens are encouraged to attend and extend each candidate with a warm welcome. The names of the finalists will be released in the near future.

Reminder that citizens can still fill out the short Police Chief Community Survey located on the HERE on the City of Whitewater’s website.

Greater Whitewater Committee Annual Meeting

Matt Moroney to speak on Foxconn at Greater Whitewater Committee Annual Meeting

The annual meeting is open to the public, all are invited. Matt Moroney, the Wisconsin Department of

Administration’s Strategic Economic Initiative Director, will be the keynote speaker. Moroney will provide information about Foxconn and how the company will impact the surrounding cities and Wisconsin as a whole to the Greater Whitewater Committee, business owners and citizen in the Whitewater area.

Four Whippet Alumni make UW-La Crosse Dean’s List

The following students have been named to the Dean’s List at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse for the fall semester of the 2017-18 academic year, ending December 2017.
Qualification for the Dean’s List is limited to students who have attained outstanding academic achievement. To be eligible, students must have earned not less than a 3.5 semester grade point average and have carried a minimum of 12 credits.

Amanda Herold, Whippet Alumna, Makes UW-Eau Claire Dean’s List

The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire has named Amanda Herold to its Dean’s List for the 2017 fall semester. Amanda is a 2015 graduate of Whitewater High School and is in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.  Amanda is the daughter of Bob and Carol Herold, of Whitewater.

Art Book Sale | Saturday, January 27

This Saturday, during the Whitewater City Market, the Friends of the Library will be selling art books.  The books are in good condition and reasonably priced.  The sale will be in the Irvin L. Young Memorial Library from 10:00-2:00.
