Community Sock Drive to Support Twin Oaks Homeless Shelter, February 4 -9

The Whitewater High School National Honor Society is running a sock drive from February 4th-9th in Whitewater. All donations of unused socks will go to the Twin Oaks Homeless Shelter in Darien, WI, which benefits in-need families in Walworth County. Sock Drive donation boxes will be located at the Fort Community Credit Union (Whitewater location), the Community Space, the Irvin L. Young Public Library, and the Whitewater High School.

Whitewater Arts Alliance to Host Quilt Show in February

A quilt show will be featured at the Whitewater Arts Alliance’s Cultural Arts Center, 402 West Main Street, from February 1 to 24, Thursdays through Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. There is a free reception, open to the public, on Saturday, February 3 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the CAC.

Whitewater Police Department Receives 6th WILEAG Accreditation

The Wisconsin Law Enforcement Accreditation Group (WILEAG), has once again accredited the WPD following a rigorous, on-site assessment of the police department in November of 2018. It is the sixth time the department has been accredited through WILEAG, one of the most in the state of Wisconsin.

Alpha – Tuesday, January 22 at 12:30 PM, Seniors in the Park

Alpha is a 2018 American historical adventure film directed by Albert Hughes and written by Daniele Sebastian Wiedenhaupt, from a story by Hughes. The film stars Kodi Smit-McPhee as a young hunter who befriends an injured wolf during the last ice age, with Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as his father. The wolf is played by Chuck, a five-year-old Czechoslovakian Wolfdog.

WUSD begins use of Raptor Visitor Management System

The Whitewater Unified School District is pleased to announce that we are now using the Raptor Visitor Management System in all of our schools. Part of keeping students and staff safe is knowing who is in our buildings at all times, and the Raptor system will allow us to do that. This system will better allow us to screen visitors, contractors, and volunteers in our schools and provide some peace of mind for our students, staff, and community.
